Overview
Non-incisional hair transplant is the best option if you want nearly scar-free hair transplant and if you do not want to have any incisions or stitches during
and after your surgery.
The doctor will shave off the hair at the back of the head from where he will harvest the hairs and will transplant them to the area you want, which can be
around the hairline area, the crown of the head, the beard area, the eyebrows, etc.
The main advantage of non-incisional hair transplant surgery is that there are no incisions, making the surgery relatively pain-free as well as scar-free.
The procedure also leads to permanent results.
The doctor can transplant 1500-6000 hair follicles during FUE surgery. Unfortunately, this is the maximum. If you would like more hairs to be transplanted or
if the area you would like to get the transplant on is too wide, you should consider doing a second surgery at least 1 year after your first surgery.
You could also consider combining both FUT and FUE surgery to transplant the maximum amount of hairs possible on one day.
Non-incisional hair transplant checklist:
Surgery information
Surgery time : 3 hours ~ 8 hours depending on the amount of hairs
Anesthesia : Local anesthesia only
Downtime : 14 days (recommended to stay in Korea for at least 4 days)
Fasting : No fasting necessary
Surgery preparations
Please stop taking any non-essential medications and supplements, including but not limited to: Multivitamins, painkillers, Omega 3 Fish Oil, etc.
Please also stop smoking and drinking alcohol starting a couple of days before your surgery.
Please wash your hair the morning of the surgery and do not apply any hair products. Please do not drink any caffeinated beverages on the day of your surgery.
After 2 weeks, most of the marks that the surgery left on the skin will not be visible anymore and any possible swelling or redness will have subsided.
Final result of the hair transplant surgery can be seen 9-12 months after surgery.
Follow-up appointments
1 or 2 check-ups. One follow-up the next day and a second check-up one or two weeks after your surgery.
Recovery time
Day 1-4
You can see some redness in the areas treated (both the transplant and harvested areas). You might feel itchiness and swelling. You should ice your forehead / eyebrow
area as much as possible to prevent swelling and you should not touch the area you received the hair transplant on at all for the first 2 weeks.
Please wash your hair with the provided shampoo once a day.
1-2 weeks
You will see scabs form in the areas treated by the surgery. Please do not pick at the scabs, but let them fall off naturally. You should continue washing your hair with
the prescribed shampoo for the first week, as well as refrain from touching.
3-4 weeks
After 3 or 4 weeks, the top parts of the hairs that have been transplanted will start to fall out over the course of 3-4 months. Do not worry when this happens, because
the lower part of the hairs will stay inside the skin. You can take your regular supplements and any necessary medication again after 3-4 weeks.
Please only tap your hair and do not rub it while washing it with regular shampoo.
2-3 months
You might experience folliculitis during the recovery. Please treat the folliculitis as soon as possible. When you do not treat the folliculitis, the hairs in the area that
the folliculitis occurs might be permanently lost. Starting 2 months after surgery, you can wash your hair any way you would like, as well as apply any hair products,
get a perm, etc.
4-6 months
You will start seeing the first results from the surgery. Smoking and drinking is possible.
7-12 months
Your hair will continue to grow out and look more natural. You can see the final result after 1 year.
