Overview

Zygoma reduction is the best surgery to reduce excessive cheekbones or an excessively wide face, which makes your face look bigger and more flat compared to the rest of your facial features.

Before surgery, the doctor and nurses will do a pre-op scan together with examinations to check exactly what kind of problem you have with your cheekbones and how this should be fixed. Zygoma reduction is used to treat patients who have cheekbones that are too large or too wide for their face.

Surgeons create incisions from inside the mouth so that no scars will be visible on the face after your surgery. You might need incisions in an area near your ear too, which will be covered with your hair. At the incision sites, the doctor cuts through the cheekbones to reposition them and restructure them. The cheekbones are then fixed in place using miniature titanium plates and screws.

If you are afraid of sagging after the procedure, you could do a (non-incisional) thread lift on the same day of your zygoma reduction to effectively lift the skin and prevent any sagging.

Zygoma Reduction Checklist :

· Are you concerned that your face is too wide?
· Are you concerned that your face looks too flat? · Would you like to reduce the size of your face to match it to your other facial features? · Would you like to make your face look more feminine?
